If January was a slow burn, February has been an absolute whirlwind!
My month has been so social and overstimulating—we are leaning slightly on the chaotic side, but in a good way. Can you believe we’re only 10 days away from March? (!) The past couple of weeks have had me dancing with the frequency of this new year: plot twists, exciting developments, and new characters incoming this season!
So last weekend, we launched our new exhibit After Laughter! Markus & I are deeply grateful to everyone who graced the opening of our show, and to the gallery team at Altro Mondo for this amazing opportunity.

Our show has a generous run time and will be up in Altro Mondo at The Picasso until April 28. I invite you to check out the exhibit in person as there’s simply a presence you can’t replicate when observing artworks in person versus online.

At the heart of this show is the concept that we have such layered inner worlds, which we catch glimpses of in shared moments. We could be looking at the same scene, but each of us perceives life in a completely different way, colored by perspectives and our current mood. The same experience can feel monumental to person A, whereas it feels mildly interesting to person B, and person C can be completely indifferent to the whole scenario. I find this contrast of experience so fascinating!

Take the recent Valentines weekend for example— for some, V day is for confessing feelings, grand gestures, and dinner reservations for 2. For others, it’s an excuse to rally up the friend group, watch cheesy movies, or drunk-text your ex, among other shenanigans. For a vast majority, it’s just another Friday. We’re always in our own realities and whether we like it or not, we’re always the artist painting our personal interpretations of this shared world. This thought is liberating because we don’t have to obsess over any one person’s opinion, or any one singular event—everyone is busy writing their own story, and everything is always changing.
As for me, I’ve always identified as a romantic and an optimist. <3 One of my favorite pieces in my new collection is Everything is romantic, as inspired by Charli xcx & Caroline Polachek’s song of the same title. I love the idea that we can fall in love again and again—not necessarily with different people, but with life itself AND the different versions of us that rise to meet it. It might take some imagination to see it at first, but once you start seeing the world through the lens of wonder—I promise you will never be the same. Everything IS romantic because everything is always changing and growing and becoming and dying and actually, chaos and order are equally beautiful.
In life, when one door closes I like to keep a window open—just enough for a little chaos to slip in. Because like fresh air, it stirs ideas and shakes up the otherwise predictable. The key I think, is learning to move with the rhythm of change. Because you know what they say: opportunity loves to dance with those already on the dancefloor.
I love being alive.
xxxx, B
